Lucid As The Legal Yankee Absinthe
It was Oscar Wilde who once asked rhetorically what the difference was between Absinthe and sunset. Absinthe is as relaxing as sunset, no doubt.
As was the tradition for drinking absente, Ice water is poured over a sugar cube into Lucid, a new absinthe the will become legally available in the US from next month.
Yeah, the lock is soon to be removed from the mouth of Americans. They have been waiting for this time like you would look forward to sunset while under heavy sun in the corn fields. Absinthe like sunset can be freely enjoyed from next month when Lucid Absente goes to the the exclusive stores already appointed to sell Lucid in the United States.
However, before now Absente lovers have worked around the ban by ordering imported bottles off the Internet or smuggling them back from Eastern Europe. Now Lucid the other less dodgy option; the first legal, genuine American absinthe in nearly a century.
Lucid is produced and marketed by Viridian in Manhasset, N.Y., founded in early 2006. Jared Gurfein, Viridian’s president, in a recent interview said that the renowned chemist Ted Breaux, a chemist known for his detailed analyses of vintage absinthes is behind the new absinthe Lucid.
